There’s a reason I never wrote you a love song
I wrote this song not to long after I finally pulled the plug on a certain ex gf. The song title came about because she always used to beg me to write her a love song. I started writing her a song and then when we broke up I changed all the words and the title. That song eventually turned into this one. If you knew the band before we released IARB. We released an acoustic version of this song, but decided to make a more “raw” version for the actual album. The chorus is basically about how I kept coming back to this girl because I hated feeling alone and every time I went back to her history would keep repeating it self. It would always end it more heart break.
“There’s A Reason I Never Wrote You A Love Song”
They say you’ll never forget your first east coast kiss
or how that midwest nice will keep you warm at night
If vegas is for sin and ohio for love
then Im heading out west for some California sun
I hate the taste of alcohol on her breath
She hates all of my words says they’re meaningless
Just like three small words she loves to throw around
Rehearsed and scripted as they slip out her mouth
You can talk all you want but baby back it up
Why does history always seem to repeat
I’ve tried my best to forget these past few weeks
I’ve got this empty bed and all these thoughts on my mind
Let’s hope his story won’t repeat this time
